Issue 15 | March 2026

Hello Friend,

At Wagler, leadership in construction is measured by the footprint we leave behind. Through our Green Initiative, we return 100% of our wood waste to the earth, closing the circle of sustainability and honoring the very soil our materials come from.

From Sapling to Soil: Our Circular Journey

We have moved beyond the "haul to landfill" mindset to build a Circular Economy that actively supports our local community and environment.

1. A Generation in Waiting

Our journey begins with our partners at the mill. Their process starts by planting saplings before the first tree comes down. By planting new trees for every one harvested, they ensure that every forest has a generation to follow.

2. High-Efficiency Inbound

Once crafted, our wood materials travel to our panel shop via a direct-to-plant rail road. By bypassing the highway, we significantly reduce the environmental impact of our logistics:

  • 75% Lower Emissions: Our rail-first approach cuts greenhouse gas emissions by three-quarters compared to traditional trucking (Source: AAR).

  • Unmatched Efficiency: A single gallon of fuel moves one ton of our material up to 528 miles (Source: AAR 2025 Analysis).

  • Clearer Roads: One single train carries the load of 300 semi-trucks, removing miles of heavy traffic from our local highways. (Source: AAR).

3. Precision Crafting & "Waste-to-Resource"

At our panel shop, our crew transforms these materials into high-performance wood panels. Every piece of scrap—whether from our shop or the jobsite—is collected and processed into high-quality sawdust.

4. Closing the Loop

This sawdust serves a vital second life as comfortable bedding for local turkey farms. After several months, this nutrient-rich bedding is repurposed again as organic fertilizer for local crop farms.

From the first seedling at the mill to the enriched soil on a neighbor's farm, we are proud to prove that high-performance construction and environmental awareness can grow together.

"This litter gets used inside the building for 3 to 4 months, by that time it turns into fertile litter that is applied to the crop farms around this area. It's high in nitrogen and all the things that it takes for crops to grow. We utilize it in the barns growing turkeys and we use it in the fields to grow crops."

Wagler is incredibly proud to celebrate Lily Villa, a vital Administrative Assistant at our manufacturing facility. Over the past two years, Lily has become an indispensable part of the team, bringing dedication and a "can-do" attitude to every shift.

If you visit our manufacturing office, you’ll quickly realize that Lily is the engine keeping everything on track. Often described as our "Swiss Army Knife," she manages a diverse and demanding range of responsibilities that ensure our daily operations run safely and without a hitch.

How Lily makes an impact every day:

  • Operational Excellence: She maintains rigorous filing systems for critical documentation, ensuring our compliance and records are always up to date.

  • Bridge-Building: Lily provides essential translation services for our team members, fostering a culture of clear communication and inclusion across the facility.

  • Logistics Support: She plays a key role in dispatching our drivers, helping to coordinate the movement of goods with precision and efficiency.

Lily’s two-year journey with Wagler has been defined by her hard work and her commitment to the safety of her colleagues. When asked about her time here, Lily shared that she "loves working for Wagler" and the feeling is definitely mutual.
